Who am I?
My name is Samantha Mayotte. I’m a writer who has lived just about anywhere that can be called “NorthEast United States.” I’ve lived in four out of six states that make up New England, and I’m currently living in Maine.
In my secret identity life (day job), I work at a life insurance company, which I complain about, but honestly it’s not too bad, just sort of tedius and repetitive most days. It’s enough to pay my bills for the most part, and it has some decent benefits, although I don’t dig the whole 40-hour-a-week thing.
Outside of writing, I love arts and crafts. I make chainmail jewelry, I love embroidery, and I’m always looking for new things to go out and try. I have a healthy love for tea and hot beverages, caffienated or not, although I do live on a steady stream of caffiene and nicotine most days.
I’m a breast cancer survivor, although I don’t necessarily love that term (despite it being technically accurate). I also don’t like being told that I’m ‘so strong’ or anything that equates me to a warrior/soldier for working while undergoing treatment. I didn’t have much choice; it wasn’t bravery that kept me going to work, it was the need to eat and keep a roof over my head.
My Writing Journey
[under construction – I’m supposed to be working on a NaNoWriMo novel right now]
